The Swaliga Foundation seeks to encourage youth to become creators rather than just consumers. Swaliga intends to boost learners' creative capacity and confidence by running its most engaging program known as #STEAMtheBlock. This program uses creativity and arts activities to enhance STEM learning. The primary goals of #STEAMtheBlock are to boost creative skills through culturally relevant hands-on learning experiences, to build Engineering & Technology skills that can connect youth to successful career opportunities, and to engage families to intentionally address socio-economic disadvantages.
#STEAMtheBlock™ uses digital art as a bridge to teach Engineering Design and Applied Science.
The Swaliga Foundation is “Engineering the Art of Education” by providing quality STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) education to youth. Swaliga provides after school programs, cultural exchange programs, and STEAM content online. Our mission is to cultivate learning globally and inspire young people to connect their passion to successful careers.

STEAM The Block: Book of Revolution
Lemond “IMAG” Brown Drops Hip-Hop Educational Music Album on S.T.E.AM
(Science, Tech, Engineer, Art & Math)
D.C. philanthropist, educator and hip-hop artist releases #STEAMTheBlock: Book of
Revolution to boost intelligence on the creation of Earth and increase brain health amongst families
(Washington D.C. - December 7, 2020) – Today, Lemond “IMAG” Brown announces the release of #STEAMtheBlock: Book of Revolution, a 5-track album musical masterpiece representing STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) education that fully integrates all subjects at once.
STEAMtheBlock: Book of Revolution was created with a purpose to ignite the imagination of young people everywhere through original STEAM educational hip-hop music. Each song is written, produced, and recorded by Lemond “IMAG” Brown under Olé Entertainment with mix and mastering by Isaiah Weatherspoon. Proceeds from the sales of the album will go towards D.C.’s global non-profit educational organization, The Swaliga Foundation in efforts to provide STEAM educational resources for youth and families.
STEAMtheBlock: Book of Revolution is packed with quadruple entendres, meaning the academic content is only one part of these multilayered songs and the songs also include motivational messages and
cultural observations coupled with a
captivating story.
The album birthed a new sub genre coined by IMAG the STEAM Emcee as “STEAM Hip-Hop” music. The “A.B.C.” song was first copyrighted in 1835 based on the 18th century melody “Ah, vous dirai-je, Maman” better known as “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.” While educational music has existed since nursery rhymes became popular centuries ago, this is the first time complex information has been presented through soulful hip-hop.
The album includes hands-on STEAM activities for each song that reinforce the concepts in the music. Each song builds on the next as listeners are taken on a wild ride from the discovery of motion in “Revolution” to lifting off into outer space in “Atmosphere”.
